Liverpool FC Football Camps UK welcomes students to Repton School near the city of Derby in England. Dating back to 1557, Repton School is one of England’s finest private schools. Educating famous Brits such as Roald Dahl, the school has seen huge investment in modern facilities in recent years including a six million pound sports centre opened in 2019.

Meals

The camp provides nutritious meals and a variety of options for players at mealtimes including vegetarian options. Camp staff check that players are eating and drinking enough, and they advise them to eat a variety at mealtimes. Water is available at all sports sessions and coaches encourage water breaks. The camp also educates players on the importance of nutrition and hydration throughout the camp. The camp may be able to cater for various dietary requirements if notified at least two weeks in advance.

Liverpool FC Football Camps UK welcomes students to Radley College near the city of Oxford, west of London, in England.

Founded in 1847, Radley College is a historic British private school set in over 800 acres of self-contained grounds in the idyllic English countryside near Oxford. The breathtaking campus has a host of historic buildings and impressive modern sporting facilities. It’s an inspiring setting for learning and perfect for developing sporting talent.

Please note:

  • The Soccer Only sessions are not suitable for basic level English speakers and that Soccer Only campers need to be able to speak at least an intermediate level of English
  • All sessions are not suitable for complete beginners at soccer as it is an intensive soccer camp
  • The Soccer and English Language Classes sessions are not suitable for players who are native level English speakers

Liverpool Camps Coaching Team

The flagship coaching programme on the Liverpool camps is delivered by an exceptional team of experienced Liverpool FC coaches. As well as being UEFA or FA qualified, all the Liverpool Camps coaches are assessed, selected, and accredited by the club, chosen for having the distinguished qualities required to coach young players ‘The Liverpool Way’. The coaches can motivate and communicate effectively with players of all ages and cultures. Many of them have previously represented LFC all over the world, working on a diverse range of LFC programmes and projects.

Development Football Camps (9 – 13, Boys) 

(Repton School, July 1 – August 4, Radley College, August 5 – 18)

Designed for players aged 9-13, this residential development camp takes players through the LFC style of play in a fun footballing environment. Choose from 6 or 13 nights. International players can choose to take English lessons alongside football training with the Football and English option.

Coaching:

Coaching focuses on a different LFC player each day, giving them a true insight into what it takes to be a great player for the club. Innovative training sessions are tailored to age and ability level with a focus on individual and group drills, small-sided games, skills challenges, and a weekly tournament.

Each player gets a one-to-one feedback session with their coach at the end of each week along with an individual report and certificate to take home. Players gain a better understanding of their game, whilst developing independence and self-confidence within an international football environment.

Up to 24 hours a week of football training and games.

Football Focus:

Football Focus includes 8 hours of workshops with LFC coaches alongside training. Football + English as Second Language Option includes 13 hours of English language lessons with professional teachers, alongside coaching.

Performance Football Camps (14 – 17, Boys)

Designed for players aged 14-17, the residential performance football camp is based on the LFC academy curriculum. Choose from two venues in England for 6 or 13 nights. International players can choose to take English as a second language lessons alongside football training with the Football and English option.

Coaching:

Coaches challenge players in high-intensity training sessions, which push them to improve technically and tactically. Grouped by age and ability, each day players focus on position-specific principles of the game with intensity at the core of every session. Coaches offer players an insight into the mental strength and psychology required to play at the highest level. A tournament at the end of the week provides players the chance to showcase their skills in a competitive environment.

At the end of the camp, each player gets a one-to-one feedback session with their coach, along with an individual report and certificate to take home. All players leave with a better tactical understanding of the game, and what it takes for them to improve on the pitch. They develop maturity, gain self-confidence, and meet friends from around the world.

Goalkeeper Football Camps (12 – 17, Boys (Girls, July 22)) 

(Repton School July 15 – August 4)

Goalkeepers from around the world learn to play ‘The Liverpool Way’

Working with specialist goalkeeper coaches, players focus on the technical and positional skills required to play as a goalkeeper in the modern game. From distribution to reaction drills, coaches challenge players to develop their individual skills. In the second session of the day goalkeepers join outfield players for training in competitive game situations, ending with a tournament at the end of the week.

Coaching:

Experience ‘The Liverpool Way’ with an insight into the technical, tactical, physical, mental and social elements of the position using Liverpool FC’s unique coaching philosophy. Specialist Liverpool FC Goalkeeper coaches deliver a curriculum focusing on footwork, positioning, communication, handling, distribution, cross-taking, agility and flexibility. Players develop as individuals within 1v1 situations, as well as gaining an understanding of supporting the team both in defensive and attacking situations.

Each player gets a one-to-one feedback session with their coach at the end of each week along with an individual report and certificate to take home. Players leave with unforgettable memories, knowledge, confidence and improved skills along with an understanding of how to apply the Liverpool FC philosophy to their own practice at home.

Up to 8 hours of Coaching workshops take place throughout the week and include sessions on match and player analysis. Looking at what it takes to excel in different positions and match situations, players compare attributes of Liverpool first team players. Girls Football Camps (12 – 17, Girls) 

(Repton School July 22 – August 4)

Learning the inspiring philosophy of one of England’s most successful football clubs. Liverpool FC coaches use the same curriculum as the academy to teach players “The Liverpool Way” including on-field coaching, workshops and skills challenges. The week concludes with a trip to the legendary Anfield stadium for a behind-the-scenes tour. Making new friends from around the world, girls leave with unforgettable memories alongside new skills.

Coaching:

Behind the scenes at the home of Liverpool FC, players enjoy the culmination of everything they’ve learnt on camp. Walking in the footsteps of the Liverpool first team on a match day, players emerge from the changing rooms onto the pitch while learning more about the club’s inspiring journey to the top of Europe and the Premier League.

Additional Excursions for Campers Staying Two Consecutive Weeks:

Theme Park Excursion (Repton School and Radley College)

From rollercoasters to fairground rides, there’s something for everyone at the UK’s biggest theme parks, with a variety of rides and attractions providing a well-deserved break from football training.

Liverpool City Tour Excursion (Repton School)

A tour of the port city, home to Liverpool FC, The Beatles and the River Mersey. Players will discover the city’s history, rich culture and its strong ties to Liverpool Football Club.

London City Tour Excursion (Radley College)

Players get up-close with iconic London landmarks like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace on a walking tour, as well as enjoying shopping experience

Staff and Safety

Camps are made up of two teams of staff consisting of the coaching team and the welfare team, which includes the camp management staff. While all camp staff are responsible for the wellbeing of players on camp, the welfare team provide 24/7 support specifically dedicated to the physical and emotional wellbeing of every child as well as ensuring they are where they need to be at the right time, with the right equipment and are suitably fueled with nutrition and sleep.

The camp carefully selects and trains camp staff using their years of experience to pick the best people for the job. All staff have an enhanced DBS check which is a criminal record and background check to ensure they are suitable for working with children. Every staff member is trained in child safeguarding while all senior pastoral care staff also have extensive experience working with children in a school or residential setting. The team also includes staff who are first aid trained, such as the on-site sports therapists and soccer coaches, as well as staff who are trained in the administration of medicines to ensure the highest standards of child welfare.
