Liverpool Football Club:

The most successful British team of all time. The name Liverpool Football Club is synonymous with unparalleled success. From the early years when the Club took over from Everton as tenants of Anfield in 1892, through to the eras of legendary managers Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley, Liverpool has a distinguished roll of honor unrivalled by any other British club. With honors including 6 European Cups, 3 UEFA Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 19 League Championships, 7 FA Cups, 8 League Cups and 15 Charity Shields, Liverpool has become one the most famous and respected soccer clubs throughout Europe and the World. The Club’s traditions and foundations were laid by Bill Shankly who became a firm favorite with the fans and helped forge a remarkable partnership between the players and the supporters. Shankly’s greatest legacy to the Club was a style of management that continued unchanged for nearly four decades, epitomized as ‘The Boot Room’ philosophy – with many of those values in place today.

Playing the Liverpool Way:

Liverpool Football Club is recognized around the world as one of an elite group of clubs with a true worldwide reputation. We pride ourselves in creating the best environment for the development of young players, both as footballers and as people. We have a very special philosophy which is well known by our players, staff and fans, is recognized all over the world and sets us aside from other football clubs. The characteristics of playing ‘The Liverpool Way’ were no more evident than during the 2005 Champions League final. Team spirit, hard work, determination and the ability to overcome any obstacles in life and above all play with dignity and fair play which are all the values and characteristics we look for in our players. For the last fifty years the club has been at the forefront of British and European football, winning numerous championships and European club tournaments. During this time, there has been a consistent tradition of developing top class players, particularly from the Liverpool Academy; Steven Gerrard is the ultimate example of a home grown talent who ranks at the very top of the worldwide game.

Through innovative and challenging sessions that include individual and group drills, small-sided games and LFC Academy skills challenges, players will be taken through a curriculum that encompasses the following pillars that are central to the club’s coaching philosophy:

TECHNICAL Sessions that allow the players opportunity to practice specific techniques/skills and repetition of that technique/skill, e.g. dribbling, passing, turning, forward moves, receiving and shooting etc.

TACTICAL Sessions that allow specific decision making opportunities and the ability to adapt and combat different pressures and systems of play with and without the ball.

SOCIAL Sessions to encourage players to interact with each other, problem solve, compete and work as a team.

PHYSICAL Sessions encouraging players to carry out fundamental movements as well as more game related movements.

MENTAL Preparation, brave with and without the ball, accepting pressure, freedom of expression and positive body language are all aspects considered in this area.
