Students participating in the Football only option will participate in workshops and analysis sessions to provide further insight into the life of an Arsenal player.

Arsenal camp model is built around Arsenal’s “Strong Young Gunner model”, with 4 distinct development areas:

This is the same model used by the Arsenal academy and used throughout the club to develop young people and players. The programme focuses on a range of skills and drills, tactics and match play.

All Arsenal Football Development coaches undergo continuous internal Arsenal Club training, which gives them the knowledge and understanding of implementing the programme.

The camp is suitable for all levels of ability with a minimum of one year’s experience.

Training includes:

  • Ball mastery, dribbling, transitions, passing, receiving, creating chances,
finishing, decision making and functional movement.
  • Tactical sessions on patterns of play, phases of play, team shape, counter attacking and pressing

At the end of the week, an official end-of-course certificate is awarded to each player and a progress report, contributing to their ongoing improvement in the game.

With participants from over 65+ countries, the camp provides a genuinely international football experience, fostering growth, the development of new friendships, and creating lasting memories for players.

All of the activities and coaching are conducted in English and the camp multinational environment means that students will primarily communicate in English throughout their stay. Students are also offered a varied selection of evening entertainment and cultural experiences with other sports camps attendees on site through weekend excursions.

Arsenal Soccer Camp Typical Day

GOALKEEPERS Age Group (9 to 17 Years Old):

Goalkeeper training is available for all sessions at each location. The goalkeeper training option consists of a couple of hours of goalkeeper training daily during the week (after that goalkeeper will be involved in group and game training situations).

Goalkeepers joining the summer football camp immerse themselves into the life of a professional goalkeeper with daily sessions focusing on all aspects of the position.

Football classes and coaching sessions cover goalkeeping techniques from footwork and handling, positioning, diving saves, possession support and distribution, 1 v 1 and taking crosses.

The Arsenal Football Club International Academy goalkeeper coaching syllabus also develops the physical and psychological characteristics that are required to make an effective modern-day goalkeeper.

The goalkeeping camp is a fantastic event that any keeper will remember forever.

Girls training (coed) at Oundle and Worth sites:

At the camp, girls are coached and train with boys and girls together based on their skill level and motivation. We have seen how
this builds confidence, creates a mutually beneficial atmosphere, breaks down age and cultural barriers whilst enhancing performance and enjoyment levels for everyone involved.

Arsenal Summer Soccer Camps UK Football Development Coaches:

Arsenal Football Development Head Coaches are UEFA qualified and all other coaches hold a minimum of a UEFA licence coaching qualification along with the English Football Association Youth coaching certification. There is a rigorous selection process and only a small percentage of coaches make it through to becoming an Arsenal Football Development Coach. All successful coaches undergo internal club training as well which gives them the knowledge and understanding of how to implement the Arsenal Football Development Philosophy and Playing the Arsenal Way. The coaches’ training continues with the club as they participate in continuous professional development events, improving their skills at conducting sessions and developing youth players’ talents in The Arsenal Way.

Arsenal Training

The Exsportise ethos is learning by experiencing so, depending on an individual’s level of English and language goals, students can choose from the following options:

Sports all day:

English Language Option:

The programs are overseen by Arsenal Football Development Head Coaches and a team of accomplished assistant coaches. All camp staff are police checked and have received Child Protection training with many staff members returning year after year to Exsportise.

Overall staff to student ratio on campus is 1:4.

Average soccer coaching ratio is 1:10/12.

All staff are residential and live on site, sleeping in the same houses as the campers. Each student is allocated a House Parent and a Welfare Staff member upon arrival, who will take care of their welfare and happiness for the duration of their stay.

Each venue has Medical Officer, as well as trained First Aiders, and is within easy reach of hospitals and medical centres. It is important that the camp receives accurate medical information before camp.

Nationality Mix:

Exsportise welcomes students from all over the world although limits the number of students from any one country at any one course. This ensures that the courses are multi-national and include native speaking English children too. Exsportise do try their best to accommodate all room share and non-room share requests.

Excursions

WEEKEND ACTIVITIES ONLY FOR CAMPERS STAYING TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS (NOT AVAILABLE FOR CAMPERS STAYING ONE WEEK)

Campers staying two consecutive weeks will be offered two full day excursions during the weekend between the two sessions.

One excursion is either a visit to a nearby city of historical and cultural significance such as Bath, Brighton, Oxford, or Cambridge or a visit to a theme park/other attraction such as THORPE PARK or Chessington World of Adventures while the second excursion is a visit to the home of Arsenal Football Club – The Emirates Stadium.

One of the highlights of the camp for campers staying two consecutive weeks is a visit to the home of Arsenal Football Club – The Emirates Stadium in London. Campers may be taken on Arsenal’s new state of the art audio-visual tour where a host of Arsenal stars share their match-day experiences. Campers will get to explore behind-the-scenes, take their place in the changing room, listen to the roar of the crowd and walk down the tunnel. The tour will also include a trip to the spectacular interactive Arsenal Museum which houses exclusive exhibits including Michael Thomas’ boots from Anfield ’89, Charlie George’s 1971 FA Cup final shirt and Alan Smith’s shirt from 1994’s European Cup Winners Cup Final. Campers will also get the opportunity to visit the Arsenal store.

Please note that in some exceptional circumstances, England soccer clubs close their stadia in the summer months with very little notice and therefore exact destinations and availability may need to change without prior warning.

All excursions are fully supervised by Exsportise staff. Packed lunches will be provided on the day of the excursion.
