Soccer Camps in Holland are sometimes referred to as either Voetbalkampen, Voetbalkamp, Voetbalscholen, Voetbalschool, Voetbalacademies, or Voetbalacademie. Holland, also known as the Netherlands, is considered one of the best soccer teams in Europe and throughout the world. The Dutch national football team is nicknamed the Oranje due to the orange color of their home soccer jerseys which reflects the national color of the country itself. The Oranje have competed in ten different FIFA World Cups as well as nine different UEFA European Championships. Holland has reached the World Cup Final three different times in 1974, 1978, and 2010 although they have not yet won the World Cup. However, Holland has won the European Championship which they won in West Germany when the UEFA Euro 1988 was hosted there. The Netherlands won the Euro 1998 Final against the Soviet Union by a score of 2 – 0 with the Dutch goals being scored by Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten. Some of the greatest football players of all time have played for the Netherlands National Soccer Team including Johan Cruyff, Ronald Koeman, Frank Rijkaard, Ruud Gullit, Marco van Basten, Edwin van der Sar, Clarence Seedorf, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wesley Sneijder, Robin van Persie, Dirk Kuyt, and Arjen Robben.
Holland has various youth Voetbalacademies and Voetbalscholen where talented young soccer players have their football skills developed with the goal of hopefully one day joining the professional soccer first team that their respective Voetbalacademie is associated with. Some of the more successful Youth Football Academies in Holland have developed many players who have gone on to feature for the first team of their respective professional soccer club including the Ajax Youth Academy whose previous players have included Johan Cruyff, Dennis Bergkamp, Clarence Seedorf, Edgar Davids, Wesley Sneijder, and Patrick Kluivert as well as the Feyenoord Academy (Varkenoord) which produced the current all-time leading goalscorer for the Netherlands, Robin van Persie. There are various Voetbalkampen and Voetbalkamp in the Netherlands where children can have a European soccer camp experience with some of their favorite Dutch professional football teams.

There are various Youth Soccer Camps and Youth Football Schools in the Netherlands where young football players can develop their soccer skills. The professional soccer first division in Holland is known as the Eredivisie and it is the highest level of professional football in the Netherlands. Some of the more successful Youth Soccer Academies in Holland include the Ajax Youth Academy which is affiliated with AFC Ajax Amsterdam, the Feyenoord Academy (Varkenoord) which is associated with Feyenoord Rotterdam, and the PSV Academy which is affiliated with PSV Eindhoven. There are other Dutch soccer clubs who also have very successful youth football academies associated with them which have produced numerous professional soccer players throughout the years for various soccer clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie and even for the Holland National Soccer Team, the Oranje. Some of the most successful soccer clubs in the Netherlands are currently in the Eredivisie including AFC Ajax Amsterdam, Feyenoord Rotterdam, and PSV Eindhoven.
AFC Ajax Amsterdam:
AFC Ajax Amsterdam is a professional soccer club from Amsterdam which is viewed by many people as one of the best football teams in the world. Ajax plays in the Eredivisie which is the highest division of Dutch professional soccer. Ajax is the most successful professional football club in the Netherlands and has already won 34 Eredivisie titles which is more Dutch league championships that any other team in Holland. AFC Ajax plays their home soccer games at the Johan Cruyff Arena which is named after arguably the greatest Dutch football player of all-time, Johan Cruyff, who was also a player for Ajax during the most successful time in the history of the club in the early 1970s. Ajax won three consecutive European Cups (present day UEFA Champions League) between 1970 – 1973 along with winning the UEFA Champions League in the 1994-95 season and the 1991-92 UEFA Cup. Ajax won the 1970-71 European Cup Final against Panathinaikos of Greece by a score of 2 – 0 with the Ajax goals being scored by Dick van Dijk and Arie Haan. AFC Ajax Amsterdam also won the 1971-72 European Cup Final against Inter Milan of Italy by another score of 2 – 0 with both of the Ajax goals being scored by Johan Cruyff. Ajax then won their third European Cup in a row when they won the Final of the 1972-73 European Cup against Juventus of Italy by a score of 1 – 0 with the only goal in the game being scored by Ajax’s Johnny Rep. The 1990s also featured some big victories for Ajax Amsterdam when they won the 1991-92 UEFA Cup and the 1994-95 UEFA Champions League. Ajax won the 1991-92 UEFA Cup Final on the away goals rule after they tied Torino of Italy 2 – 2 on aggregate but because Ajax had scored two away goals in the first leg of the final compared to zero away goals for Torino in the second leg of the final, Ajax Amsterdam ended up winning the 1991-92 UEFA Cup. AFC Ajax Amsterdam became the champions of Europe for a fourth time when they won the 1994-95 UEFA Champions League Final against AC Milan by a score of 1 – 0 with Patrick Kluivert scoring the winning goal for Ajax. Ajax Amsterdam is also well known for its Ajax Youth Academy which has produced numerous talented football players throughout the years, many of which have gone on to play for the AFC Ajax Amsterdam first team and even for the Holland National Soccer Team, the Oranje.
Feyenoord Rotterdam:
Feyenoord Rotterdam is one of the most successful professional soccer teams in the history of Dutch football. Based out of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Feyenoord has experienced success both domestically and on an international stage by having won the European Cup in the 1969-70 season as well as having won the UEFA Cup in both the 1973-74 and 2001-02 seasons. Feyenoord has also won the Dutch Eredivisie fifteen times with their most recent domestic championship coming in the 2016-17 season in Holland. Feyenoord Rotterdam won the 1969-70 European Cup Final against Celtic FC from Scotland which was played at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. The game was tied 1 – 1 at the end of regulation with Celtic’s first half goal scored by Tommy Gemmell having been quickly equalized by Feyenoord’s Rinus Israël only a few minutes later and there having been no scoring in the second half of the game. The game went into extra time and there was a scoreless first half of extra time before Feyenoord Rotterdam’s Ove Kindvall scored the championship winning goal for Feyenoord in the second half of extra time which resulted in Feyenoord winning the 1969-70 European Cup by a final score of 2 – 1 and thereby becoming champions of Europe. Feyenoord also experienced European international success won they won the 1974 UEFA Cup Final against Tottenham Hotspur of England as well as the 2002 UEFA Cup Final against Borussia Dortmund of Germany with the final for the 2002 UEFA Cup being played at Feyenoord’s home stadium in Rotterdam, Holland. The final of the 1973-74 UEFA Cup was a two legged final which Feyenoord Rotterdam won 4 – 2 on aggregate with the first leg in London being a 2 – 2 draw and the second leg in Rotterdam resulting in a 2 – 0 win for Feyenoord. The Feyenoord goals in the first leg were scored by Willem van Hanegem and Theo de Jong while the Feyenoord Rotterdam goals in the second leg were scored by Wim Rijsbergen and Peter Ressel. Feyenoord won the UEFA Cup for a second time in the 2001–02 season but this time the final was played in just one game instead of two games as the previous UEFA Cup final that Feyenoord was involved with had been. The 2002 UEFA Cup Final was hosted at Feyenoord’s home stadium which they won against Borussia Dortmund of Germany by a score of 3 – 2 with the first two Feyenoord goals being scored by Pierre van Hooijdonk and the game winning goal being scored by Jon Dahl Tomasson. The biggest soccer rivalry game in the Netherlands is known as De Klassieker which features AFC Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord Rotterdam. Feyenoord is also a part of the Big Three football clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie along with AFC Ajax Amsterdam and PSV Eindhoven who are considered by many people to be the three biggest soccer clubs in Holland.
PSV Eindhoven:
PSV Eindhoven is one of the biggest professional football clubs in Holland along with the other members of the Dutch big three which are AFC Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord. PSV Eindhoven plays in the Eredivisie which is the highest division of Dutch professional soccer where they also have experienced success on both a domestic and an international level. PSV has won twenty-four Dutch league championships as well as eleven Johan Cruyff Shields, more than any other soccer club in the Netherlands. The Johan Cruyff Shield is a game which is played by the winner of the Dutch football league against the winner of the national KNVB Cup, which PSV has also won nine times including three consecutive championships in a row from 1988 through 1990. PSV Eindhoven has also experienced international success by winning the 1978 UEFA Cup (present day Europa League) against Bastia of France by a score of 3 – 0 on aggregate in a two game final which saw the first game in France end in a scoreless draw followed by a 3 – 0 win at home in Holland for PSV. The second game of the 1978 UEFA Cup Final included PSV goals scored by Willy van de Kerkhof, Gerrie Deijkers, and Willy van der Kuijlen to give PSV the UEFA Cup championship. PSV then won the 1988 European Cup Final (present day Champions League) against SL Benfica of Portugal and became champions of Europe. The 1988 European Cup Final ended in a scoreless draw and went into penalty kicks which PSV Eindhoven won by a score of 6 – 5 in penalties to give PSV the European Cup championship. PSV Eindhoven is also known for the elite professional soccer players that have played for the club throughout the years including Romario, Ronaldo, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Mark van Bommel, Phillip Cocu, Jaap Stam, and Park Ji-sung. Brazilian superstars Romario and Ronaldo both averaged nearly a goal per game when they played for PSV Eindhoven. During his career, Holland superstar Ruud van Nistelrooy also averaged almost a goal per game during his time at PSV. Mark van Bommel was twice named the Dutch Footballer of the Year while as a PSV Eindhoven player. Holland international football players Phillip Cocu and Jaap Stam both played for PSV during their soccer careers. Phillip Cocu would end up playing over one hundred games for the Netherlands National Soccer Team while Jaap Stam would end up playing over sixty games for the Oranje. Park Ji-sung and Ruud van Nistelrooy also spent part of their professional football careers playing for PSV Eindhoven. Park Ji-sung ended up playing for the South Korea National Soccer Team one hundred times in his career while Ruud van Nistelrooy ended up scoring a goal every two games during his international playing career for the Holland National Football Team.
