Charterhouse School will be available for Boys from 10 – 17 years old, Girls from 12 – 17 years old, and Goalkeepers from 13 – 17 years old. Charterhouse School is the perfect home for Chelsea FC Soccer Camps. The school is just 45 minutes from London and is one of England’s most prestigious private schools with excellent sports facilities and is perfectly designed for young residential campers. As well as extensive grass soccer fields (and a couple of artificial field where players will train (Artificial fields at Cobham training center), the school has it’s own 25m swimming pool and tartan athletics track. The school has a rich sporting history and was involved in the first meeting of the football association, where the rules of the modern game were born. Several Charterhouse pupils have gone on to play soccer for England. Charterhouse School is a leading private school near London, England.

Bradfield College will be available for Boys 10 – 17 years old.

Bradfield College has an excellent reputation amongst English private schools for its impressive sports facilities and prime location in the Berkshire countryside near Reading. It’s just an hour from central London.

Alongside fantastic sports facilities, the College has impressive football facilities including ten grass pitches with state-of-the-art under-soil drainage. There is a grand dining hall in the main school building as well as modern classroom facilities, acres of grounds and sports pitches and a 25-metre swimming pool.

Bradfield College is home to some of the most technologically advanced and modern sports facilities found in schools in the UK.

Surrey Sports Park is situated in the historic town of Guildford at the University of Surrey, just 40 minutes from London.

Opened in 2010, this £36m elite training venue is a sporting hub in the South-East of England. The park played host to 16 Olympic and Paralympic teams, including Team GB, USA, and China for pre-London 2012 training and is currently home to several professional sports teams and athletes. With state-of-the-art facilities, including modern on-site accommodation, Surrey Sports Park provides the perfect environment for older players looking to take their game to the next level.

ROOM REQUESTS

Please note that roommate requests can only be done if the participants are the same gender and are within 2 years of each other in age but that it is up to the camp to decide the room assignments at camp.

PLEASE NOTE: The Soccer Only sessions are not suitable for basic level English speakers and that Soccer Only campers need to be able to speak at least an intermediate level of English. All sessions are not suitable for complete beginners as it is an intensive soccer camp.  The Soccer and English Language Classes sessions are not suitable for players who are native level English speakers

Soccer Coaching

The coaching curriculums are designed and delivered by
Chelsea FC Football Development Team, one of the world’s leading football education programs. All four camps provide players with an insight into life as a young Chelsea FC player, with coaches sharing insights into what it takes to compete at the highest level. On each camp, players are grouped by age and ability to ensure they get the best out of every training session.

A weekly awards night on Fridays celebrates players’ successes, with prizes for performance and progress throughout the week. Players leave with a better understanding of how to improve along with confidence from an international football environment and new friends from across the globe.

Each week Chelsea FC organises evening matches against local opposition*, giving players a chance to represent the club whilst they are on camp. The matches are high-intensity and provide an opportunity for players to play under pressure and test themselves in a competitive environment.

*matches may not be possible on all weeks depending on opposition availability.

Chelsea FC Training Ground – a Day at Cobham:

Every week, players experience what it’s like to be a professional Chelsea FC player with a day of training at their official training centre. Sessions focus on gameplay situations and encourage players to put the skills they’ve gained throughout the week into practice.
During the day, Chelsea FC’s expert staff team, together with occasional special guest speakers, inspire young players with knowledge and insight into the professional game.

Football Camps Development (10 – 12, Boys, Charterhouse and Bradfield College):

PLAYER LEVEL: All abilities including advanced players

COACHING: The coaching curriculum is designed and delivered by the Chelsea FC Football Development Team,one of the world’s leading football, education and community programmes.

On-Pitch: Grouped by age, young players improve their game under the guidance of Chelsea FC coaches, learning to master the skills and techniques for each position in a fun and engaging environment. Focusing on Chelsea’s fast, attaching style of football, each day Is themed on a different Chelsea First Team player, looking at the skills and strengths they bring to the team. A weekly awards ceremony with a range of prizes brings everyone together to celebrate their achievements.

WORKSHOPS + RECOVERY (Soccer Only Sessions): Players follow a series of fun, interactive football workshops and recovery activities throughout the camp. Workshops introduce a range of topics designed to give a broader view of the game and an insight into what it takes to be a professional player. Discussions on subjects such as nutrition and team tactics, plus debates on picking a dream team, encourage players to build confidence in communicating in a group situation. Recovery exercises, such as yoga, help players to manage the workload of training twice a day.

RESULTS: Players improve through a combination of coaching, skills challenges and small-sided games. They develop independence and build self-confidence on and off the pitch, whilst also leaving with a better understanding of themselves as a player and insight from an international football environment.

Football Camps Advanced (13 – 17, Boys, Charterhouse and Bradfield College):

PLAYER LEVEL: Players who play regularly for school or club

COACHING:

Designed and delivered by Chelsea FC’s football development team, one of the world’s leading football and education programs. Located within a world-famous English boarding school, this popular program challenges players to improve at every level.

On-pitch: Expect high-intensity daily training sessions with CFC coaches. Focus on playing as a team whilst preparing to play competitive matches later in the week. Players are challenged to improve technically and tactically using pro-style drills, skills challenges and small-sided games. A weekly football awards night on Saturday gives players the chance to celebrate successes and win prizes based on performance and attitude throughout the week.

WORKSHOPS + RECOVERY (Soccer Only Sessions): Workshops introduce topics designed to give an insight into what it takes to be a professional player. Subjects include nutrition, match preparation and team tactics. Other debates encourage players to build confidence in working together and communicating effectively. Recovery and strength & conditioning sessions including yoga, have been designed to help players manage the workload of training twice a day. 

RESULTS: Players leave with a better tactical understanding of the game and what it takes for a team to be successful. Showcasing their new-found skills in competitive game scenarios, they understand how coaching drills and challenges throughout the week translate to match performance. As well as their progress on the pitch, players make new friends from around the world and develop maturity, confidence and an understanding of different cultures.

Football Camps Performance (15 – 17, Boys, Surrey Sports Park):

PLAYER LEVEL: Club Level Player

COACHING:

Designed and delivered by Chelsea FC’s football development team, one of the world’s leading football and education programs. Chelsea FC coaches offer in-depth insight into how to improve individual performance, grouping players by age and ability within a challenging football programme.

On-pitch: Coaching is modelled on key elements of the Chelsea First Team’s playing style – a combination of detailed technical drills and the tactical awareness needed in senior football. Experienced coaches encourage players to develop the physical attributes and mental resilience needed to succeed at senior level.

WORKSHOPS + RECOVERY (Soccer Only Sessions): Players follow an English FA coaching course, helping them to understand how to combine learning on the pitch with a tactical appreciation of the game. Recovery and strength & conditioning sessions, including yoga, help manage the workload of training twice a day.

RESULTS: Players leave with a 360˚ view of the game and a better understanding of the tactical elements of football. Through a combination of coaching, skills challenges and small-sided games, players understand where they need to continue to improve as an individual technically, tactically and physically to succeed at a high level. The camp experience builds greater self-confidence, maturity and new friendships with players from around the world.

Girls Football Camps (12 – 17, Girls, Charterhouse School):

PLAYER LEVEL: All abilities including advanced players

COACHING:
Grouped by age and ability, high-intensity daily training sessions with CFC coaches focus on playing as a team in the Chelsea FC Women style whilst preparing to play competitive 11-a-side matches later in the week. Players are also challenged on an individual level to improve technically and tactically through a series of pro-style drills, skills challenges and small-sided games.

WORKSHOPS + RECOVERY (Soccer Only Sessions): Players follow a series of fun interactive football workshops and recovery activities throughout the camp. Workshops introduce a range of topics designed to give a broader view of the game and an insight into what it takes to be a professional player. Goalkeeper Football Camp (13 – 17 years old, boys and girls, Charterhouse School):

PLAYER LEVEL: Players who play regularly for school or club

COACHING: Chelsea FC Development Team goalkeeping coaches lead several training sessions throughout the week focusing on skills specific to this position. During other sessions, goalkeepers will join the outfield players for coaching. During goalkeeper training players work on the physical and technical aspects of their position, including ball handling, positioning, shot stopping and distribution as well as psychological and social aspects of the game. During outfield training, they will work on their broader knowledge of the game and put their goalkeeping skills into practice in-game scenarios. Sports science workshops support on-field training.

Off-pitch: Players follow a series of fun, interactive football workshops and recovery activities throughout the camp. Workshops introduce a range of topics designed to give a broader view of the game and an insight into what it takes to be a professional player. Discussions on subjects such as nutrition and team tactics, plus debates on picking a dream team, encourage players to build confidence in communicating within a group situation. Recovery exercises, such as yoga, help players manage the workload of training 2 sessions each day.

RESULTS: Players will improve through a combination of coaching, skills challenges and small-sided games. They leave with a better understanding of themselves as a player and gain confidence and insight from an international football environment. All players receive an individual coaching assessment and certificate to take home.

English Language Classes Curriculum (for Soccer and English as Second Language Classes Camp Option):

Classes focus on sport, engaging students’ passion for the subject to promote language learning in a fun and interactive environment. Using the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) model of English, qualified teachers infuse language learning into lively and active classes where sports-based projects, discussions and activities take center stage. Teachers guide students to improve their verbal communication skills while discussing legendary players, interviewing coaches, or writing and speaking their own commentary. Learning is supported by English teachers living on-site and English is spoken at all times throughout the camp, creating an immersive learning environment.

Students are grouped into classes based on a combination of age and ability. At the end of the camp, each player receives a written report and advice on how to continue their learning at home.

Stamford Bridge Excursion for Residential Campers:

The trip to Chelsea FC’s iconic stadium in London includes a behind-the-scenes tour as well as a visit to the museum and megastore. Campers staying for one week or two weeks will each have one total visit to Stamford Bridge during their soccer camp.

A visit to London for campers staying two consecutive weeks. Campers embark on a walking tour of London seeing famous sights like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. After a scenic bus tour along the Thames is an opportunity to do some shopping in the capital.

Evening Activities (Subject to Change):

Campers will enjoy an exciting and structured evening social programme with new friends, including team building games and fun outdoor activities. Examples include rounders, ultimate frisbee, head tennis, and quiz nights. After evening activities, campers get to enjoy some downtime in the dedicated players’ lounge complete with games consoles and foosball table.
